Following the discussion of draft laws for the legalization of medical cannabis in Portugal, the Cannativa — Cannabis Studies Association and Cannapress decided to go ahead with the production of a totally independent documentary, to inform about the reality of the use of medical cannabis in Portugal.
O first movie trailer was presented at the Health Commission of the Assembly of the Republic, within the scope of the Hearings integrated in the Working Group “Use of cannabis for medicinal purposes”, on March 8, at the time of the Cannativa audition.
Cannapress and Cannativa receive contacts every day from patients seeking medical advice or more information about cannabis for therapeutic purposes. We therefore decided to listen to patients who use or seek to use cannabis for medicinal purposes. and give them a voice, so that they could demonstrate their access difficulties and lack of medical follow-up. Cannativa considers that the current situation is already a public health issue.
The documentary “Patients – Waiting for the law” includes a series of reports on the use of Medicinal Cannabis in Portugal and interviews with doctors, politicians and patients.
The premiere is scheduled for November 9 this year, during the Medical Cannabis Conference that Cannativa is organizing, and access will be free on the YouTube channel. “CannapressTV”.
For now, the documentary is being made only with the volunteer work of several people who have committed themselves to this cause, but a crowdfunding campaign will soon be launched to finance its completion. Here is the technical sheet with the names of the people who contributed to make all this possible. Our thanks to each and everyone.
