Cannabis for recreational purposes is already a reality in Canada, reported the CBC. The Canadian Senate approved, on the 20th of June, the “Cannabis Law”, which is expected to enter into force on the 17th of October 2018.
The electoral promise of Justin Trudeau, Prime Minister of Canada, to fully regulate the various uses of cannabis became a reality on June 20, when the Canadian Senate passed Bill C-45, entitled “The Cannabis Act” (The Cannabis Law). The law passed, however, saw its date of entry into force postponed from 1 July to 17 October, in order to allow the different provinces to adapt to the Federal legislation.
Canada thus becomes the second country to fully legalize and regulate the use of cannabis, along with Uruguay.
