Cannabidiol has been excluded from the new Prohibited Substances List published by the World Anti-Doping Agency (WADA) in the first week of October.

Classification of cannabinoids on the AMA Prohibited List

the AMA clarifies that banned cannabinoids include natural and synthetic tetrahydrocannabinol (THC) as well as synthetic cannabinoids that mimic the effects of THC. The agency also explains that “natural and synthetic cannabinoids are prohibited, with the exception of cannabidiol”.

According to federal law in the United States of America (USA), if the cannabidiol (CBD) originates from the hemp plant, i.e. if it contains less than 0,3% THC (the maximum THC limit of hemp in USA), is cool.

The AMA Prohibited List goes into effect on January 1, 2020. The list includes substances and methods prohibited in and out of competition.
