Cannabis Europa arrives in Madrid on February 10
The Conference'Cannabis Europa' premieres in Madrid, Spain, on the 10th of February, with several doctors and researchers of international renown to discuss Cannabis for medicinal purposes. 'Cannabis Europa Madrid' will take place at the InterContinental Hotel, against the backdrop of European regulatory changes and strong social support for cannabis, although the legal framework in Spain is not yet defined.
According to event organizers, the NOBL Group, which also owns the international consultancy Prohibition Partners, the main objective of the Conference is “to share knowledge and shape the future of medical cannabis in Spain and Europe”.

Several speakers will be present to share their vision and knowledge, from research to medicine, through politics and patients.
Bruno Maia, Neurologist at Hospital de São José and founding member of the OPCM – Portuguese Medical Cannabis Observatory, will be one of the speakers at the event, along with Janosch Kratz, MD, who is also a member of the OPCM Advisory Board.
Mr Piernicola Pedicini will give an overview of the different regulatory models in Spain and Europe, followed by the President of the Federation of Pharmaceutical Companies of Spain, Luis de Palacio, who will explore how the neighboring country's infrastructure can be channeled to support development of Spanish medical cannabis as a power in Europe.
Spain has been instrumental in the development of recreational cannabis culture in Europe. The first clubs opened in 1991, and it is estimated that there are more than 400 cannabis clubs across the country, including in Catalonia, which has made Spain rank third in Europe for cannabis use and 13th in the world. .
However, despite pioneering policies regarding recreational use, Spain is still waiting behind the scenes for the legalization of medical cannabis, despite the fact that 84% of the population is in favor of this use. Spain therefore represents a strong commercial industry, in addition to having one of the most innovative biomedical sectors in the world, which makes it one of the most promising markets in Europe for cannabis, assuming a huge investment potential.
