ABOUT PTMC – PORTUGAL MEDICAL CANNABIS
Portugal Medical Cannabis (PTMC) facilitates comprehensive education and information to healthcare professionals and patients in Portugal about medical cannabis, through conferences, lectures, debates and a wide range of online resources. This educational initiative operates under a team of dedicated professionals with vision and passion, together with an international scientific council that includes some of the most respected doctors and researchers in the field of medical cannabis.
The PTMC team joined in 2017, even before the Portuguese Parliament approved Medicinal Cannabis. At the time, Laura Ramos, journalist, Fernando Bandrés, travel agent, João Costa, student of physical engineering, and Luís Matias, event manager, concluded that more training and reference information on medical cannabis was urgently needed.
Thus, in 2018, they organized the first International Conference and Workshops for Health Professionals in Lisbon, with the non-profit association Cannativa, which had 400 participants from 17 nationalities. https://cannativa.pt/conferencia/It was also carried out a documentary about Medical Cannabis Patients in Portugal, available free of charge on PTMC's Youtube channel:

In 2019, the same team joined the Portuguese Observatory of Medicinal Cannabis (OPCM), a patient association, to organize two more Conferences and Workshops, in Lisbon and Porto, where more than 600 professionals from 26 nationalities participated. https://pmc2019.pt/
In 2020, the team grew and continues to work together with a Scientific Council formed essentially by the speakers (doctors and researchers) who participated in the previous events, now creating a new association to guarantee the updated training of health professionals and access to information. about medical cannabis. www.ptmc.pt
