Ordem dos Médicos debates today the “Use of cannabinoids for medicinal purposes”
The Webinar takes place today at 21:30 pm and is broadcast by Regional Section of the Medical Association Center (SRCOM), through its Ethics and Deontology Office, which offers short lectures on the “Use of cannabinoids for medicinal purposes”. It is free to access.
The program includes the following sessions:
• The Endocannabinoid System and Its Therapeutic Potential – Prof. Doctor Félix Carvalho | Full Professor at the Faculty of Pharmacy of the University of Porto (FFUP);
• Legal aspects of the use of cannabinoids for medicinal purposes: Opportunities, Challenges and Limitations – Dr. Ricardo Baptista Leite | Doctor and Member of the Assembly of the Portuguese Republic;
• Scientific evidence of cannabinoids in neurological diseases and pain management – Dr. Filipe Word | Pediatric neurologist at the Pediatric Hospital of the Centro Hospitalar e Universitário de Coimbra (HP – CHUC) and guest assistant at the Faculty of Medicine of the University of Coimbra (FMUC);
• Cannabinoids in Oncology – Dr. Paulo Tavares | Clinical Hematologist at CHUC;
• Discussion of the topic
Moderation will be in charge of:
• Prof. Doctor Fontes Ribeiro | Full Professor at FMUC and Specialist in Clinical Pharmacology
The participation of interested parties (the general population and the medical community) will take place through the digital platform Zoom and Facebook. Note: This preventive measure will remain in effect as long as the epidemiological risk remains.
