CannaCasa launches survey of hemp farmers in Portugal

A CannaCasa – Industrial Hemp Association is carrying out a survey on industrial hemp production in Portugal. The objective is to try to understand how much the market for this raw material can be worth and what this represents in terms of economy and sustainability in our country.

“In compliance with its competences in terms of representing farmers and hemp producers in Portugal, the association is collecting this information to carry out a survey of the market value that hemp can represent at a national level”, it reads. if in a statement.

Speaking to Cannareporter, Miguel Negrão, president of CannaCasa, added that the purpose of this survey is “to find out what is really the value of hemp in Portugal, who is actually producing it, what are the areas available for cultivation, in which areas of interest”. of the different applications of hemp is being invested in and which industries can benefit from this production, directly or indirectly”.

Industrial hemp can be used for various purposes, from seeds for food to building bricks, through cosmetics, fibers for clothing, paper, bioplastics, fuel or animal feed, among others.

The data collected by the survey are anonymous, serve for purely statistical purposes, referring to the socio-geographical distribution of productions, and will later be processed and disseminated. You can access the inquiry at this link.

2 – Information relating to the period corresponding to the cultivation;
3 – Characterization of Explorations;
4 – Characterization of the Varieties Used and Purposes of Production;
