American Association of Food Control Officials hosts webinar on hemp in animal feed

The American Association of Food Control Officials (AAFCO) and the National Industrial Hemp Council (NIHC), both North American organizations, are holding a webinar today on the theme “Why is there no hemp in animal feed?”. The session starts at 17 pm, is free and aims to address the challenges and steps needed to get hemp approved as an ingredient for animal feed.

The growth of the industrial hemp industry in the United States of America is bringing new challenges for operations that want to exploit the potential of industrial hemp in animal feed. The discussion will be about how to overcome challenges, get approval and will feature 15 professionals from the “feed manufacturing, hemp production, scientific research and oversight and regulation” industry. The aim of the webinar is to “connect with industry peers and share meaningful dialogue on how to overcome challenges and move forward together so hemp can become a safe and beneficial food ingredient”.
