Portuguese companies Medicane and Cannexporpharma join the Sanity Group

O Sanity Group, led by Finn Hänsel, announced on Friday the strengthening of its global network of partners, having established partnerships with companies in Canada, South Africa and Portugal. THE cannexporpharma and medicine (MHI Cultivo Medicinal) are the Portuguese companies that are part of the German group's network of partners. Deliveries begin in the last quarter of this year.
The Sanity Group, founded in 2018 in Germany by Finn Hänsel, announced strengthening and diversifying its global network of partners. On the list are two Portuguese companies, Cannexporpharma and MHI Cultivo Medicinal. Although the statement is not fully explicit, the shipment of cannabis to Germany is expected to start as early as next month.
According to the press release, a partnership was established through the signing of exclusive medical cannabis supply contracts with South African suppliers FarmaGrowers, Chroni-Co and Safri Canna, Canadian suppliers Groupe Fuga, Habitat Life Sciences, Candre Cannabis and Miracle Valley, as well as the Portuguese company Cannexporpharma.
MHI Cultivo Medicinal, the subsidiary company of Medicane Health Inc, has also entered into a partnership with Sanity Group, actively contributing to the establishment of a platform for the processing of GMP-approved cannabis within the group's partner network.
3 tons of cannabis a year
In total, there are 3 tons of cannabis for a year, it is not clear if these come exclusively from Portugal. However, at least part of these will be produced by the Portuguese company. According to a statement from Cannexporpharma, German patients will have access to “cannabis flowers with proven historical data of THC content in the range of 26-28% produced in our facilities”.
The German group thus consolidates its presence in the German medical market and prepares itself for the anticipated changes in the regulations on adult cannabis use in Germany. Finn Hansel said that “we spent a lot of time visiting and selecting great partners”, and now “we will be able to react flexibly to demand. We are prepared for what may be coming in the market and thus obtain additional capacity to innovate”.
Hanna Hlushchenko, Business Developer at Cannexporpharma, stated that the Condeixa-based company is “happy to find such a strong partner in the German market” and hopes that “this is just the beginning of a long-term cooperation”.
Thimo V. Schmitt-Lord, Director of Innovation and New Markets at Sanity Group, said that “more than 200 potential partners worldwide were analyzed. In addition to product quality and process reliability, the new partners impressed by their Corporate Governance sustainability and his enthusiasm for cannabis.”
The Sanity Group has raised more than 2018 million euros in private investment since 60, by players of football like Mario Götze and André Schurrle — as well as several other private investors, including Snoop Dog (through Mesa Verde Capital) and Will.I.Am.
