Professionals specializing in treatments with cannabinoid medicine and lawyers working in the medical cannabis sector will meet tomorrow at a round table to exchange opinions on Resolution nº 2324/2022, announced by the Federal Council of Medicine (CFM) on October. The event, which will be free and broadcast online, seeks to make known the practical aspects of the resolution, arguing that the rules do not change and that patients will be able to continue their treatments.

During the last week, Brazil has experienced an authentic escalation in the discussion on access to medical cannabis, after the publication of CFM Resolution No. 2324/2022. The measure raised waves of indignation in the medical class, namely in a number of doctors who pioneered the prescription of medical cannabis in the country, as well as in lawyers specialized in this sector.

That's why tomorrow, at 19:30 pm (Brazilian time), an elite panel in the Brazilian medical cannabis sector will join, with free online broadcast. The meeting is aimed at all those interested in the subject, from health professionals to patients and the general public.

The professionals present at the event will share their views and experience regarding the benefits and uses of medical cannabis, through a scientific and technical basis, in order to promote the advances that this type of treatment deserves in Brazil. According to the press release, the experts present also argue that, despite the resolution, nothing changes in practical terms and patients will be able to continue treatment with cannabinoids and not just one of the cannabinoids, CBD, as provided for in the new regulation.

“Next Tuesday, we hope to reach the greatest number of people with rich, enlightening and scientific evidence-based information, so that resolutions like this don't silence us, don't take away our freedom as doctors, and don't stop us from doing what we most want. , which is to heal and treat people, our professional and life mission”, explains one of the participants in the debate, physician Ailane Araújo, a pioneer in medical cannabis in Brazil and founder of the Nucleus for Development in Cannabinoid and Integrative Medicine (NDMCI).
