Klay Thompson, pitcher and NBA champion for the Golden State Warriors, recently went public with his story with the police over possession of a small amount of cannabis. The player was approached by US authorities and was even handcuffed for having less than two grams of the plant's flowers.

Thompson recently appeared on the show 'All The Smoke' and gave some details about the unusual event in his life, when he was approached by the police at his home. Klay recalled the situation with some indignation and a sense of humor. He said he was parking in front of his house and that he only had a small bag weighing less than two grams in the car's glove compartment. His intention was just to go home, relax and listen to his favorite music, when the police accosted him and insisted on searching his vehicle.

The basketball player would eventually let the police search the car and ended up being handcuffed in the street, in a situation that made him ashamed. “At the time I thought 'My parents are going to be so angry, so disappointed!' The agents would eventually release Thompson, but not without first making a record and imposing a fine. “I wasn't going to hurt anyone, I just had a tiny sack of weed,” he confessed. Klay Thompson is champion and one of the great figures in the NBA. However, there was some controversy surrounding the start of his professional career in 2011 due to his falling out with the authorities.

The athlete revealed that, two years later, smoking cannabis became legal in Washington, which 'made it even more stupid'. Klay explains in the video that he's "not an idiot" and that he wasn't high on cannabis while driving, he just wanted to go home and relax.
