Akanda completes first medical cannabis export to Germany
The first shipment of medicinal cannabis grown in Portugal by Akanda arrived in Germany earlier this week, according to a release of the company's press. This is the first shipment under the agreement signed last month with the German company Tired.
Akanda Corporation announced its first shipment of cannabis flowers to Germany in a press release, but the actual amount shipped was not disclosed. It is known, however, that these are flowers with a high THC content, not subject to irradiation, according to the information released. It is the first expedition related to the agreement announced last month for the supply of cannabis flowers to the German market, through the German company Cansativa.
Cansativa, which hopes to capture 10% of the German market, has negotiated with Akanda to deliver at least 1.000 kilograms of medical cannabis flowers in a deal that is considered to be one of the biggest supplies in the European medical cannabis industry. Cansativa is also the only company in Germany authorized to distribute cannabis produced in Germany.
“This is an impressive milestone for Akanda's entry into the German medical cannabis market. The successful arrival of our first shipment of flowers to supply patients via the Tiresome platform is an indication of market demand for high THC medical cannabis,” commented Tej Virk, CEO of Akanda.
“Our Portugal-based EU GMP certified medical cannabis growing operation houses a unique 1800 square meter premium indoor growing site in Sintra and a 65 hectare outdoor site in Aljustrel. Akanda is dedicated to fulfilling supply agreements and delivering quality, non-irradiated, high-THC medical cannabis flowers to the market. premium liquors🇧🇷 Our medicinal cannabis flower premium liquors tested up to 28% THC and the Sintra indoor facility has produced approximately 1.200 kg to date,” said Tej Virk.
