Brazil: STF postpones, once again, judgment on decriminalization

The Federal Supreme Court of Brazil has once again postponed the judgment on the decriminalization of drugs in the country. The process has been dragging on since 2011 and in the last month its discussion has already been postponed twice.
It is a process that, in addition to having national repercussions, has been going on for more than a decade. At stake is the decriminalization of drugs, which is being debated by the Federal Supreme Court of Brazil. The discussion should have started on 24 May, but it was postponed to June 1 for judgment of other cases.
This time, the case was rescheduled again: the trial that will discuss the decriminalization of drug possession for personal consumption will then enter the STF agenda, with the trial scheduled for June 21st. The Court judges the constitutionality of article 28 of the so-called 'Drug Law', which makes it a crime to acquire, possess and transport narcotics for personal consumption.
