The Association of Mothers for Cannabis (AMC) announced the launch of an e-book entitled “Cannabis Frontiers: SCIENCE, THERAPEUTICS & SOCIETY”, an accessible publication aimed at all audiences, with informative content on the use of cannabis for purposes therapeutics. The Association announced in a statement that the publication represents a milestone in AMC's scientific productivity, with the intention of promoting dialogue, boosting scientific research and the development of policies that guarantee patients' access to the plant.

It is the first document published by the non-profit association Mães pela Canábis, which proposes, through the collective, a solution to their children's health problems. The publication was developed by Adriana Ribeiro, President of the Scientific Council and Director of Technology & Innovation at AMC, and Paula Mota, Founder and President of the Association. It also has the collaboration of Sérgio Neto, Consultant and Head Grower, co-founder of Pure Healing. In a statement, the Association describes that the project represents a significant step for Mothers for Cannabis and highlighted the “collaboration with other health professionals in preventive and clinical practice”. The “scientific proactivity of the association for the benefit of countless mothers who seek quality of life and solutions to their children’s health problems through medicinal cannabis” is highlighted.

The e-book is characterized by a simple and accessible narrative, with the aim of reaching all audiences in an informative and grounded way with recent advances in scientific literature. The topics covered include therapeutic applications and general information about the particularities of Cannabis in society, especially related to Portuguese public health, in order to promote dialogue between health professionals and boost scientific research in addition to policies that guarantee its safety and accessibility. Furthermore, “we count on international support and partnerships, both in research and in the area of the health of its members”, says the association.

The themes of the e-book “SCIENCE, THERAPEUTIC & SOCIETY”, will be constantly updated in subsequent editions, including sections on legislation for Cannabis-based medicines, application of Cannabis in different pathologies, testimonies from patients and caregivers, guidelines and procedures for self-care and multidisciplinary approaches, among others.
