It is one of the most important scientific conferences on the medical cannabis industry and returns to Marco Island, Florida, from May 12 to 15, 2024. Organized by Medicinal Genomics Corporation, the CannMed 24 Innovation & Investment Summit will showcase the latest advances in medicinal plant research, clinical application, safety, cultivation and investment.

“A Medicinal Genomics Corporation (MGC) is a pioneer in the use of genomics to improve agricultural productivity, safety and transparency of medicinal plants”, announced the organization of the CannMed 24 Innovation & Investment Summit, the sector's main scientific conference, which will take place from 12 to 15 May, at the JW Marriott Resort in Marco Island, Florida.

In addition to independent presentations rigorously selected by a scientific advisory board, this year's exclusive, invitation-only event features immersive workshops in laboratory safety, cultivation and capital markets, advance panels on nursing, legalization and regulatory affairs, and a credit-bearing medical internship of CME for healthcare professionals.

“CannMed is not just an event. It's a movement. Everyone involved – our presenters, our participants, our team and this incredible venue – comes together every year to make CannMed the epicenter of medicinal plant science, and this year will be no exception,” said Brendan McKernan, CEO of Medicinal Genomics, in a press release.

“Once again, we look forward to welcoming a diverse spectrum of cannabis entrepreneurs, researchers, doctors, nurses and investors to this important meeting. Thanks to our rigorously organized selection process, CannMed always showcases the latest advances in this fascinating field, and as a result, the conversations, connections and insights shared here continue to define the trajectory of the industry. That’s why CannMed’s reputation sets it apart,” says McKernan.

Scientific program includes renowned speakers
CannMed's 24 speakers include Capital Markets workshop leader David Taylor, managing director of Golden Eagle Partners; Dr. Bonni Goldstein, medical director of Canna-Centers; Ethan Russo, MD, founder and CEO of CReDO Science; Michael Straumietis, founder and CEO of Advanced Nutrients; Jini Glaros, CSO of Modern Canna; Kevin McKernan, founder and CSO of MGC; J. Michael Tipton, executive vice president of cultivation at Verano; and joining the regulatory panel are Michael Rashed, director of USP, and Deborah Miran, former commissioner of the Maryland Cannabis Commission.

In addition to the traditional focus areas of Finance, Science, Medicine, Security and Farming, each year CannMed expands to accommodate new topics and issues. This year's newcomers include a cannabis nursing panel led by Eloise Theisen, co-founder and chief visionary officer of Radicle Health, and Nicole Foss, president of the American Cannabis Nurses Association (ACNA), as well as a panel and breakfast hosted by members of the ACNA executive team.

Also new this year is a Legalization panel, moderated by Jean E. Smith-Gonnell, partner at Troutman Pepper, a law firm with deep experience in many aspects of the cannabis industry.

This year's program consists of more than 55 presenters, each selected through a rigorous process, whose submissions were evaluated by CannMed's independent advisory board. This year's list of medicinal plant pioneers brings together participants from almost every country where cannabis is changing the future of health and well-being.

A full list of confirmed speakers, CannMed Advisory Board members and full program can be found at official event website.
