A PTMC – Portugal Medical Cannabis will bring together professionals from the medical cannabis industry on May 22nd, between 09:30 am and 19:30 pm. The event takes place at the Lisbon Geography Society (welcome coffee and conferences) and at Casa do Alentejo (lunch and cocktail), both located on Rua das Portas de Santo Antão, in the center of Lisbon. Speakers include Vasco Bettencourt and Ana Rita Martins, directors of the licensing and inspection units, respectively, of the Cannabis Office for Medicinal Purposes of Infarmed – National Authority for Medicines and Health Products IP 

Establishing itself in recent years as a center of excellence for medicinal cannabis in Europe, Portugal is currently one of the largest cannabis producers in the world, with around 50 companies licensed by Infarmed and more than 150 pre-license holders able to continue the licensing process.

The cannabis industry is one that will generate the largest number of jobs worldwide in the coming years and Portugal is no exception.

In order to facilitate contact and the transmission of information between professionals in the sector and the national regulator, PTMC will dedicate a day to different lectures that will discuss the current situation of medicinal cannabis in Portugal and the future of this market at national and International.

In the morning, Vasco Bettencourt, Director of the Licensing Unit and Coordinator of the Cannabis for Medicinal Purposes Office at Infarmed will give a brief presentation on how the licensing process for companies in this area works. For her part, Ana Rita Martins, Director of the Inspection Unit, will explain the inspection procedures in companies producing medicinal cannabis, providing important tips for companies to prepare for a successful inspection. The presentations will be followed by a question and answer session open to participants, moderated by CannaReporter® Journalist, Laura Ramospara, so that as many doubts as possible can be clarified, in a conversation that is intended to be informal and enlightening.

In the afternoon, there will be panels in an interview format, moderated by Journalists Laura Ramos and Margarita Cardoso de Meneses, starting with several stories of Innovation & Success in the area of ​​medicinal cannabis. Key speakers include Sérgio Neto, founder of Pure Healing and now a consultant at CannaCare, who recently registered a patent for a cannabis oil, Jean Claude Scicluna, a doctor passionate about technology, who created a digital health platform for medicine based in plants, and Stephen Murphy, founder of Prohibition Partners and Cannabis Europe, one of the oldest and largest cannabis conferences on our continent.

The official language of the event will be English. You tickets cost 250 euros until May 17th, with access to the entire event, including lunch, cocktail and after party No. rooftop at the Hotel Mundial, in Martim Moniz, in Lisbon, after 19:30 pm. From May 18th, tickets will only be available at a price bark bird, now costing 299 euros. Places are limited to 150 participants.
