Santarém – Dismantling of industrial cannabis production unit

The Santarém Territorial Command, through the Criminal Investigation Unit (NIC) of the Santarém Territorial Detachment, on January 21, dismantled an industrial unit used for the production of cannabis, in the municipality of Santarém.
Following a complaint about the existence of a place intended for the planting and subsequent preparation of cannabis, the military personnel of the Guard launched a criminal investigation operation, in coordination and collaboration with the Public Prosecutor's Office, which culminated in the fulfillment of a search in a warehouse, in the municipality of Santarém.
During the action, several materials were seized, including:
- 115 kilos of dried cannabis sativa, ready to sell and consume;
- 3 cannabis sativa plants in different stages of maturity;
- 526 starters for heating lamps;
- 392 heating lamps;
- 213 electrical circuit breakers;
- 72 gas extractors;
- 67 large filters;
- 71 fans;
- 29 fans;
- Seven greenhouse controllers;
- Three precision scales;
- Various material related to the production, drying and packaging of narcotic products.
During this operation, 46 soldiers from the Santarém Territorial Command were involved, namely from the Santarém Territorial Detachment, the Intervention Detachment (DI), the Technical Support Unit (NAT) and the Support and Services Platoon. This operation also included reinforcement from the Emergency Protection and Relief Unit (UEPS).
