2nd edition of the Binóide Festival celebrates cannabis culture at Village Underground, in Lisbon

The second edition of Binoid Festival takes place on June 29th, at Village Underground, in Lisbon, and will bring together music, art, workshops, brands, artisans, professionals in the field, enthusiasts and curious people to celebrate cannabis culture in Portugal – with the energy and boldness that characterizes the Brazilian community, the country of origin of most of the organization's members and the artists on the poster.
The differences end there, as cannabis is a plant of union and in this regard, all those who study it, work with it and come across it at these events tend to share the same fascination and passion without borders. This is precisely what the Binóide festival wants to offer: a day of celebration and communion between all those who find answers in cannabis, whether medicinal, industrial, recreational, for work, for leisure or for any other reason.
Alongside concerts and exhibitions, the Binóide Festival will have a “weed market” with CBD products, paraphernalia, tattoos and live art with Persi Tattoo, the mini photo studio of socialweed who will do a cannabis photography workshop; flash tattoos of Juliana Mendes e Maria Belier; and stalls from brands such as Green Mill, Green Culture, Girls Seeds or collaborative projects between makers and artisans such as seven sisters.
The presence of Pedro Masetti, who will demonstrate resin extractions, among others workshops and conversations that will make up the program dedicated to various aspects of the plant. In total there will be “10 hours of market and 14 hours of music” to liven up the party from two stages, with the rhymes Little girl XIII, the soundsystem of Mindel Reggae and the music of various DJs like DJ Ofa, DJ Style, XavBeatzz ou DJ Swingueiro. But it doesn't stop there. There will also be pocket shows, food and lots of networking.
Carolina Furtado, or Carol Binoid as she is known in the industry for being the founder of Binoid channel, explains that “the intention of this event is to spread knowledge, along with the vibrancy of culture, art and music.” The first edition of the Festival, “combined lectures with DJ sets and live performances by artists simultaneously. This time it will be no different: a fair with more than +15 brands while the Sound System is playing, all outdoors in an environment that is, in itself, an artistic intervention: the Village Underground”, she explained. In the afternoon, says Carol, the lectures will take place “in an environment prepared for those who want to set aside some time to absorb valuable information” about the plant and everything that can be done with it. The Bonóide Festival was organized in collaboration with the visual artist Ingrid Lyra and with the Rio de Janeiro production company Xarpi party, Kel Pastori.
The Binóide Channel, for its part, is “a communication platform that unites science, culture and marketing to transform the perception of the plant” and events like this serve to “connect knowledge and experience, in a vibrant and inclusive space, bringing together exhibitors, artists, music, interactive activities and independent projects to educate, inspire and boost the green economy”.
All good reasons for a great cannabis party.
