“We, the Patients” Expands Sessions on Medicinal Cannabis and Chronic Pain to Bern and London
The international patient-led organization “We, The Patients", founded and chaired by Carola Pérez, will expand the European debate on Medicinal Cannabis and Chronic Pain to two more European cities. Patients intend to lead the way in building bridges with healthcare professionals through two more major events this fall: Bern, Switzerland, on October 11, 2025, in collaboration with Medcan Schweiz; and London, United Kingdom, on November 7, 2025, in partnership with PatientsCann UK. Both events are free, with limited registration available online.
Creating Safe and Inclusive Spaces for Patients
After the success of previous meetings in Madrid and Zurich, these new editions continue the mission of “We, The Patients” to empower people living with chronic pain and build bridges of understanding with doctors, researchers and policymakers through empathy, evidence and lived experience.
Each event is designed to provide a safe, accessible, and welcoming space for all participants, including:
• On-site medical support for patients who may require assistance;
• Scheduled breaks and rest areas to ensure comfort throughout the day;
• Attentive buffet adapted to all needs: vegetarian, gluten-free and alcohol-free options;
• A welcome bag for each patient, filled with useful and meaningful items;
• Complete video recordings, later shared on the “We, The Patients” YouTube channel, ensuring open access to all.
Patients build bridges across Europe
In both Bern and London, patients will lead conversations that will bring together doctors, scientists, and advocates to co-create understanding of the therapeutic use of cannabis and pain management.
The program includes:
• Scientific Insights: The latest evidence on cannabis-based treatments for chronic pain;
• Patient Testimonials: Real stories that highlight resilience and shared learning;
• Connection Dialogues: Sessions led by patients that connect lived experience and science;
• Practical Workshops: Hands-on demonstrations on vaporization and terpenes — the aromatic compounds in cannabis with potential therapeutic value.
These meetings aim to foster collaboration, trust, and community, proving that progress in medicinal cannabis starts with listening to patients.
According to Carola Pérez, founder and president of "We, The Patients," these events are not just conferences, they are bridges: "Patients are leading the way, inviting doctors and researchers to walk alongside them. Together, we are creating a new model of care, based on empathy, knowledge, and real-life experience," she stated.
