Portocanna strengthens its Hexacan portfolio with a new sublingual solution containing 20% THC.
The Portuguese company Portocanna has announced the launch of Hexacan® Hexa 01 Cannabis Oil Extract THC 20%, a sublingual solution that expands the therapeutic options available on the market, especially in Portugal, which still has few products available. Developed from the same genetics used in the Hexacan® Hexa 01 High THC 22% dried flower, Mango Summit, this new format offers a different presentation and route of administration and has a price of around 93,23 euros.

The extraction of Hexa 01 with 20% THC is made from the 'Mango Summit' cultivar, which results from a cross between the San Fernando Valley OG and Tahoe OG strains.
In a press release, Portocanna states that it "reinforces its commitment to ensuring equitable access to its pharmaceutical products based on medicinal cannabis."
Sublingual administration, "currently unique for this type of medicinal cannabis-based preparation on the Portuguese market, offers a differentiated therapeutic option, with practical use for the patient," says Portocanna.
In its 20% THC version, Hexa 01 is intended for use only by adults aged 25 years and older and is indicated only in cases where conventional treatments have not produced the desired effects or have caused significant adverse effects.
It is up to the prescribing physician to assess the patient's clinical situation and, based on the characteristics of the cannabis-based substance and the pathology, decide on its use, as well as the conditions and dosage under which it should be administered.
The new Hexa 01 20% THC stands out in three main aspects:
● Continuity: developed from the same genetics used in the dried flower, Hexacan® Hexa 01 High THC 22%, already marketed in the country.
● Equivalent price: Portocanna maintains the same price as the dried flower, ensuring that economic factors do not limit the choice of formulation type.
● Sublingual route: currently, it is the only product on the national market with sublingual administration, offering an alternative use with different pharmacokinetic characteristics.
Hexa 01 oil extract with 20% cannabis comes in a 10 ml bottle with a dropper dispenser, containing 200 mg of THC per ml. The total THC content per bottle is 2 g (20%) and costs €93,23.
The Hexacan® range of products is available for order through the national distributor, and is accessible to all pharmacies in Portugal.
Founded in 2019, Portocanna is a European leader in the production of high-quality medicinal cannabis. It operates with EU-GMP certification issued by INFARMED, IP, has its own laboratory and a dedicated research and development team, and markets products both domestically and internationally, where it has already introduced more than 200 products.
