Portugal: Infarmed updates lists and removes licenses from two more medicinal cannabis companies.
Infarmed has updated the public list of entities licensed for activities involving medicinal cannabis in Portugal. The notable changes include the absence of licenses for Qanali, Lda. and Batherafarm Unipessoal, Lda., which operated in the areas of cultivation, import, and export, with Bathera also involved in manufacturing.
According to the analysis carried out by CannaReporter® on the official lists published by the National Authority for Medicines and Health Products IP (Infarmed), it was found that the companies Qanali, Lda. (NIF 515558508, Coimbra district) and Batherafarm Unipessoal, Lda. (NIF 515011193, Setúbal district) are no longer listed among the entities with active licenses in the categories of cultivation, import, and export. The latter is also no longer listed on the Infarmed portal in the category of medicinal cannabis manufacturing.
The update represents a significant change in the composition of the national market, since both companies were listed previously with valid authorizations. Infarmed has not yet published any public statement clarifying the reasons for the removal, which may be related to expiration, non-renewal of licenses, or internal administrative changes. CannaReporter® is attempting to obtain more information about this situation from the companies mentioned.
CannaReporter® will continue to monitor listing updates and changes in licenses granted or revoked, contributing to a transparent understanding of the sector's evolution in Portugal.
