Portugal: CannPrisma recovers all licenses from Infarmed.
CannPrisma has today regained all licenses from Infarmed — the National Authority for Medicines and Health Products IP — to operate with medicinal cannabis: Cultivation, Manufacturing, Import, Export and Distribution. The news was confirmed this morning to CannaReporter® by Elsa Pereira, the company's current CEO.
“Infarmed has fully reinstated all of CannPrisma’s operating licenses — a step that concludes the temporary suspension process and confirms the authorities’ confidence in our rigor, allowing us to resume cultivation, manufacturing, import, export and distribution, with a commitment to continuous improvement. We thank our employees, customers and partners for their trust, whose resilience and professionalism were essential during this period,” Elsa Pereira wrote to CannaReporter®.
In a LinkedIn post, CannPrisma celebrated "the complete resolution of the temporary administrative suspension process," which had begun at the end of July 2025. During these long four and a half months of suspension, CannPrisma faced several challenges, including the loss of clients and the dismissal of dozens of employees.
"This result reaffirms the confidence of regulatory authorities in our compliance standards and operational integrity," says CannPrisma.
The new operational phase includes:
– To strengthen trust with our international clients and partners.
– To resume industrial planning and pharmaceutical production with stability.
– Ensure full alignment with best compliance practices.
– To contribute to the sustainable development of the medicinal cannabis industry in Portugal.
Similar to other companies, such as Herdade das Barrocas (which also had its license suspended in July and...) recovered about two weeks agoCannPrisma found itself involved in Operation Weed, by the Judicial Police, which began in May of this year and has not yet concluded.
Several medicinal cannabis companies are directly or indirectly involved in this operation by the Judicial Police, but the process remains under judicial secrecy and the information available about what actually happened is very scarce.
“Cannprisma continues to be one of the vertically integrated and EU-GMP certified cannabis operators in Portugal, maintaining our commitment to the highest standards of quality, compliance and transparency that define our operations. We thank our partners, customers and employees for their continued trust throughout this process. Operations are resuming immediately at full capacity,” the company concludes in its LinkedIn post.
