After her husband, Jay-Z, had announced the creation of its own brand of cannabis-derived products, Monogram, Beyoncé said, in interview with Harper's Bazaar, that CBD has helped her with pain, inflammation and sleep better. The singer also revealed that she is growing hemp and making honey.
The interview was published on August 10, 2021 in the North American magazine Harper's Bazaar and includes some revelations about the more private side of one of the biggest stars in the music business. Responding to a question about how she cares to stay healthy, Beyoncé said she suffered from insomnia while on tour and that CBD helped her find balance and fall asleep faster. “Personally, I have struggled with touring insomnia for more than half my life. Years of wear and tear on my muscles from dancing in heels. The stress on my hair and skin, from sprays and dyes to the heat of a curling iron and wearing heavy makeup while sweating on stage. I've learned a lot of secrets and techniques over the years to be at my best for each show. But I know that to give my best, I have to take care of myself and listen to my body”.
Beyoncé said she is investing more in her mental health and self-care, learning to break the cycle of ill health and neglect and focus her energy on her body in an effort to change habits and let go of the pack. of fries and chaos everywhere.
“During the quarantine, I went from excesses to creating positive rituals inspired by previous generations and putting my own interpretation on things. I discovered CBD on my last tour and experienced its benefits on pain and inflammation. This helped with my sleepless nights and the restlessness that comes with not being able to sleep. I have found healing properties in honey, which benefit me and my children. And now I'm building a hemp and honey farm. I even have beehives on my roof! And I'm so happy that my daughters have modeled these rituals from me. One of the most rewarding moments as a mother was when I found Blue soaking in the tub with her eyes closed one day, using concoctions I created and taking time for her to decompress and be at peace. I have so much to share… and there is more to come!”
