USA: More than 90% of adults who use cannabis do so for health and/or well-being reasons

A survey carried out by the US company “The Harris Poll”, on behalf of Curaleaf Holdings, reveals that 91% of adults aged 21 and over who have used cannabis did so for health and/or well-being purposes, announced the Curaleaf in Press release. The study surveyed nearly 2000 people in the US and found that 75% of respondents would prefer holistic health solutions over pharmaceuticals, with 62% saying they would prefer to use cannabis over other medicines. 

More than half of respondents (52%) said they still prefer using cannabis to relax, 49% to help with sleep, 44% to reduce stress and 41% to reduce anxiety.

The survey also found that 88% of individuals who used cannabis as an alternative and/or in addition to pharmaceutical treatments felt that their overall well-being improved, with 86% of those who used cannabis for health or wellness recommending cannabis to a friend or family member for medicinal purposes. The complete survey results can be consulted here.
