Nepal hosts Asian Hemp Meeting 2019
The first edition of Asian Hemp Summit, will take place in Kathmandu, Nepal, with the aim of exploring the vast possibilities of industrial hemp across the continent. The local institution Shah Hemp Inno-Ventures (SHIV), the HempToday and hempoint, from the Czech Republic, are the organizers of this inaugural event, which is scheduled for the 1st and 2nd of February 2019 at Gokarna Forest Resort in Kathmandu.
At this event, Nepal will focus politicians, development agencies, private hemp enthusiasts, environmental groups, traders, entrepreneurs and consumers from around the world to scale and leverage the ever-increasing potential of hemp in the Asian market.
Industrial hemp cultivation has grown rapidly in many Asian countries, especially in the last decade. “Opportunities abound globally – investment is needed across Asia, across all sectors and sub-sectors,” said Dhiraj K. Shah, consultant, founder and CEO of Shah Hemp Inno-Ventures. “There is a lot that can happen across borders because of strong trade traditions and established import and export agreements between Asian nations.”
Various industry professionals from the four corners of the globe will share experiences and opinions, in an event that provides for a wide-ranging discussion on all aspects of the hemp trade, from cultivation to food, through construction products, cosmetics, textiles and CBD ( Cannabidiol), among others.
The event will take place on the Gokarna Forest Resort, in Kathmandu Valley, about 10 km from Tribhuvan International Airport.
