The second edition of the Cannabis Thinking, a series of lectures organized in Brazil by the The Green Hub, who intend to launch the debate on the right to grow cannabis in Brazil. In the style of TED Talks, Cannabis Thinking 2.0 has exclusive content from experts and qualified professionals in the field of cannabis worldwide, with an approach based on data, references and knowledge.
Steve de Angelo, Mara Gordon, Dustin Sulak or Sandra Carrillo are some of the participants in this edition, which due to the pandemic will be available on an entirely digital platform. The program includes lectures on various topics related to the legal cannabis industry, with a constructive approach to inspire debates and uncover new solutions for Brazil based on the cultivation of the plant.

Lectures are available starting today, December 1, 2020, with access to the website through subscription, in the amount of 99,90 Brazilian reais (about 15,50 euros), with unlimited access to content for three months. Here, debut presentations by experts and qualified professionals in the international cannabis market will be available, with a dynamic similar to the TED Talks format.
The videos are about 15 minutes long, keeping the creative and innovative spirit of The Green Hub, a Brazilian consultancy and start-ups with a specific focus on the cannabis market, responsible for carrying out Cannabis Thinking. With the initiative, the company provides quality information, contributing both to decision-making and to the construction of the productive ecosystem for this sector. There will be more than 20 international and Brazilian speakers.

- Steve DeAngelo, recognized worldwide as the father of the legal cannabis industry in the United States and also for his activism in favor of cannabis reform and legalization;
- Sebastian Moroccan, born Juan Escobar, changed his name after the death of his father, Pablo Escobar. He is an architect and writer. He acts as a peacemaker in order to provoke in the public a reflection on the circumstances that lead to the emergence of people like his father;
- Juan Manuel Galán, son of presidential candidate Luis Carlos Galán, murdered at the behest of Pablo Escobar. He dedicates his life to politics. Elected Senator, he fights for the decriminalization of drugs and stands against the war on drugs;
- Dustin Sulak, an American pioneer of integrative medicine with a focus on osteopathy and cannabis. He is the founder of Integr8 Health, Maine (USA);
- Sandra Carrillo, Colombian doctor specializing in the medical use of cannabis and the endocannabinoid system. She is president of the Colombian Medical Association of Medicinal Cannabis;
- Saul Kaye, founder of iCAN and entrepreneur engaged in building and developing the cannabis ecosystem in Israel;
- Sibusiso Xaba, co-founder and CEO of Africa Cannabis Advisory Group (ACA Group) and an expert in capital markets, financial derivatives, venture capital fundraising and portfolio management;
- Tseli Khiba, a lawyer active in the Lesotho cannabis industry, appointed to the African Union Expert Committee on Cannabis;
- Mara Gordon, a cannabis advocate, entrepreneur, and researcher, has created therapeutic dosing regimens for patients around the world;
- Luis Armendariz, a cross-border business and transaction lawyer, represents Mexican and foreign clients investing in Mexico;
- Andrew Freedman first director of Cannabis Coordination in the State of Colorado (USA);
- Facundo Alvarez placeholder image, a physician specializing in the use and application of phytocannabinoids in clinical practice. Co-founder and Vice-President of CANNAMERICA (organization dedicated to the dissemination and information on Medicinal Cannabis and Drug Policy).
Among the Brazilian speakers are:
- Altair Lira, technical coordinator and project manager at the Fundação de Amparo à Pesquisa do Estado da Bahia. He holds a master's degree in Public Health and a bachelor's degree in Social Sciences, with an emphasis on Health Anthropology;
- Fabricio Pamplona, scientist and entrepreneur, has served as a guest researcher at the Max Planck Institute of Psychiatry, in Germany and is a researcher at the D'Or Institute for Research and Innovation;
- Luciano Ducci, physician and federal deputy;
- Marília Zaluar, PhD in Biological Sciences, is a member of the International Society for Cannabinoid Research and the International Association for Medicinal Cannabis. She is also part of the Scientific Committee of the Brazilian alliance of patients using medical cannabis Ama-me;
- Rose Gracie, businesswoman and granddaughter of Grand Master Helio Gracie. She is campaigning for the use of cannabis by athletes suffering from so-called boxer syndrome.
- Peter Pierro, functional neurosurgeon and Medical Director of the Cannabinoid Excellence Center, was one of the first physicians to prescribe cannabis-based drugs in Brazil;
- Viviane Sedola, founder and CEO of Dr. Cannabis, was elected one of the 50 most important women in the cannabis world by High Timesin 2019;
- cida oak, president of the Cannabis and Health Association – Cultivate and activist for the rights of full access to health through the self-cultivation of cannabis;
- Patricia Montagner, a physician with experience in the areas of general medicine, emergency medicine, neurointensive care and neurology;
- Reform Network, a non-profit association active in drug law and policy reforms.
Start-ups
Cannabis Thinking 2.0 will also feature Pitch Sessions for presentation of five start-ups accelerated by The Green Hub – Cannabinoid Center of Excellence, Cannapag Bank, Jamba Studios, Reset and Cannabis Institute for Social and Economic Research (Ipsec). This section will also give space for more than 25 projects selected in a call for start-ups, carried out by The Green Hub between September and November, with the aim of finding creative and innovative solutions for the national cannabis market.
Another highlight, still in the Pitch Sessions, is on account of the space granted to associations operating in the cannabis market, including Brazilian Association of Medicinal Cannabis (Abracam), Santa Cannabis, Association to Support Medical Cannabis Research and Patients (Apepi) e Embrace Hope.
According to Alex Lucena, Head of Innovation at The Green Hub, the legal cannabis market is booming around the world. “The prospects for growth and profit are great, but the challenges are not far behind. In this structuring scenario, it makes all the difference to count on the event, which brings together a powerful group of specialists, with quality information and practical examples of new businesses”, he highlights.
