It is one of the most important events in the industry fin Spain and will take place today and tomorrow in Hall 14 of the IFEMA from Madrid. This year, the eighth edition of Farmaforum includes a cannabis, facilitated by agropharm, a company from Cordoba that is dedicated to the design, execution and start-up of cannabis cultivation facilities for medical use.
Cannabisforum runs in parallel with Farmaforum and includes several conferences dedicated to the field of cannabis, from cultivation to construction of facilities, through production, manufacture, transport, regulation, dietary supplements and medicinal benefits of cannabis for patients.
“More and more countries are regulating the use of medical cannabis. The withdrawal from the United Nations (UN) IV list of narcotics, the evidence of its usefulness in multiple therapeutic targets, the existence in Spain of an environment with scientific quality, climatic conditions, specific agronomic knowledge and developed and experienced industrial suppliers, make the medicinal cannabis into a great business opportunity and wealth generation, having as a perspective the example of the success story of its development in Portugal”, can be read on the Cannabisforum website. “From Farmaforum, we will address in this congress the following conditions from various angles, in addition to current events in our country”, says the organization of the event.
Agropharm has already developed 4 projects in Portugal
The cannabis conferences are sponsored by Agropharm, a company that aggregates the experience of several others that offer the best technical advice and consultancy for the design and construction of projects for the pharmaceutical industry with cannabis. Agropharm has more than 20 years of experience in advising, improving and technical consulting in high-yield crops, with cannabis being the most recent.
In recent years, Agropharm was responsible for the implementation of four companies in Portugal: Symtomax, Linneo Health, Great Soul Pharma and Kannabeira. Using the expertise of its partners, Agropharm developed the lighting and cultivation project for Linneo, built the Symtomax greenhouse, designed and integrated the agronomic zone for GACP and GMP certification of Great Soul Pharma, including the management of works, and managed the Kannabeira project, with the coordination and construction of all areas. Tomorrow, October 6th, Rafael Rey, CEO of Agropharm, and Jaime Gil-Robles, senior advisor of the same company, will participate in a roundtable entitled “Escape from Frankenstein projects: How to avoid cost overruns in a cannabis project”. Antonio Bezanilla, a lawyer specializing in pharmaceutical law and public health, Mar Díaz, Technical Manager of Validation at Trescal Spain, Valentín Martínez, Sales Manager for Life Sciences at Trescal Spain and José Maraver, founder and managing partner of Kannabeira.
The conferences also feature panels dedicated to medicinal cannabis products and treatments, regulation in Spain, development of investigational drugs based on cannabinoids, microbiological risks and best cleaning and disinfection practices to ensure the safety of patients and users of cannabis and hemp, among others.
