It was to the surprise of the entire community in Portugal and everyone across borders who attended and attended the now usual Porto International Hemp Fair. that today saw the announcement of the end of projects with the brand “CannaDouro”. The project was founded in 2017 by João Carvalho and Alberto Pires, who tragically passed away in a motorcycle accident last September. In a press release, the director, João Carvalho, announced that “It is with regret that we inform you that the conditions to continue projects with the CannaDouro name are not maintained”.

According to the statement, which can be read below, the main reason for this outcome has a lot to do with the death of the commercial director, Alberto Pires, last year. Despite the shock of his death, last year's edition of CannaDouro still took place and remained in everyone's memory as a tribute to Alberto.

However, the edition that was scheduled to be held in November this year will not happen, at least under the name CannaDouro. Whether another event will be created to replace it is still uncertain.

As regards the CannaDouro Magazine, currently the only Portuguese paper magazine dedicated to cannabis, it was announced that although the current CannaDouro Magazine will no longer be published, a new magazine, with a new name, will be published next June to replace it, maintaining the same editorial team .

The announcement that was made on the social network Instagram from CannaDouro, it was as follows:

To the entire Portuguese cannabis community, customers and visitors to CannaDouro:

After prolonged and considered reflection between myself, Director of CannaDouro and CannaDouro Magazine, and all Staff Coordinators, in light of the death of our Commercial Director, Alberto Pires, it is with regret that we inform you that the conditions to continue the projects are not maintained under the name CannaDouro.

FAIR + MAGAZINE + GUIDE + CONFERENCES

Since 2017, we have been working towards information and the legalization of cannabis, of which we are very proud, and which we know has left many fruits in Portuguese society.

However, sometimes cycles close and the need to move forward and embrace new projects arises.

Therefore, we announce that the Cannadouro 2024 Fair will not take place, leaving the last edition as a great tribute.

As Director of CannaDouro Magazine, the only paper and online publication dedicated to cannabis in Portugal, I inform the entire community that a new magazine will soon be launched, so that together we can maintain:

 “Towards the legality of cannabis!”

 João carvalho

 Until forever!

CannaDouro

2017-2023
