Flowr receives GMP certificate from Infarmed in Sintra
A flowr corporation announced that its European subsidiary 'Holigen', received the certificate of Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) in Portugal, at its facilities in Sintra. The certification, in accordance with European Union standards, was issued by the Infarmed, National Authority for Medicines and Health Products, IP, and allows the manufacture and export of finished GMP certified medical cannabis products from Portugal to international markets.
“The GMP certificate is the worldwide standard that pharmaceutical companies use to choose their partners. We are delighted to receive this certificate at our facility in Sintra, Portugal. It is a fundamental license in the field and a big step that will allow us to introduce our final product to the European market”, said Pauric Duffy, Flowr's Europe manager.
“Our international strategy is fundamental to the growth of our revenues and the creation of value for our shareholders. The certification is a testament to our focus on quality and an important milestone for our team in Europe and for the rest of our international structure,” said Vinay Tolia, CEO of Flowr.
Located in the Sintra area, in the Lisbon district, Holigen's facilities were intentionally built with 6 cultivation greenhouses, a research and development laboratory, as well as an extraction process infrastructure. Sintra is capable of producing approximately 1,800 kg of dried flowers of great medicinal quality when fully optimised. Holigen's European operations also include 65 hectares of outdoor cultivation in Aljustrel, capable of producing 500,000 kg of cannabis. The company will request an increase in funding to complete the process at Aljustrel.
