The American cannabis company Viola Brands announced this Wednesday a deal for the next few years with former basketball star Allen Iverson, better known as 'The Answer'. The NBA legend has joined the North American company with new 'strains' and exclusive 'merchandising'.
With this partnership, the American cannabis company aims to take advantage of the recognition of one of the greatest icons of the 6st century hip-hop culture in valuing its brand in the cannabis industry, with exclusive products. Iverson joined Al Harrington, Viola's CEO, on the company's 4-square-foot manufacturing farm in Detroit. He was introduced to the space with a detailed tour, where he observed the cultivation process used by Viola, called a “large-scale operation”, with a “true dedication to the plant”, along with Viola's commitment to increasing minority ownership and participation. in the cannabis industry, currently at XNUMX%.
It should be noted that Viola, a company co-founded by the former professional basketball player Al Harrington in 2011, is the only company in the field that is totally 'black-owned', that is, exclusively founded and managed by African-Americans, which explains this partnership between the two parties, were not Allen Iverson one of the greatest icons of African-American culture.
“Several people approached me with business opportunities, but this one with Al Harrington was different,” said Iverson. “By observing their dedication to the business and after learning more about the benefits of the plant, I felt very good. I am excited to be part of this project. Together we are about to change the 'game'.”
This partnership intends to present essentially a variety of products directly related to cannabis, but does not exclude others. One of the plant-related products that this partnership will put on the market will be 'The Iverson Collection', a series of seed varieties that will be launched in the markets where Viola operates.
The first variety will be released in October, exclusively at the 'Elevate and Jade Room' in California. “Just as Allen impacted our culture, we will continue to impact the cannabis industry,” revealed Al Harrington, adding that “we will continue to push boundaries. It's a great honor to have Allen Iverson on board with us. We want to continue to inspire and encourage people of 'color' to actively participate in the cannabis space”.
In addition to this partnership with Viola, 'The Answer' also features Al Harrington's partnership on his CBD wellness brand, with ads under the 'umbrella' of Harrington Wellness.
