German police seize Lidl hemp products

German police seized several hemp-based products at a Lidl supermarket in Rosenheim, Germany, the magazine announced. Hemp last week. Of the range of products sold, it is not known for sure which ones were seized, but Lidl has already withdrawn all of them from the market, as a precaution, says the German online newspaper, inFranken.

Although there are not many details of the investigation, local newspapers say that the seized products are being examined by the authorities to determine if the permitted levels of THC are being complied with. Only if they do not comply is a process opened. The results should be out within a week, according to the German prosecutor's office.

In Germany CBD products on sale cannot exceed 0.2% THC and the companies that manufacture them must be properly licensed. According to the company that manufactures them, The Green Dealers, the products are within legal parameters.

The 21 articles recently made available by Lidl ranged from brownies of hashish, energy drinks or alcohol with cannabis, or plant-based cookies.
